Prince And Princess Of Wales Share Photo To Mark 12th Wedding Anniversary

The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a new picture online to mark their 12th wedding anniversary.

They posted a picture on their @KensingtonRoyal Twitter account showing them riding bicycles in Norfolk last year.

The beaming couple have their arms around each other, with William wearing sunglasses, a navy blue shirt and jeans while Kate is seen with her sunglasses resting on her head, dressed in a white blouse and jeans.

The picture, taken by photographer Matt Porteous, was posted along with the caption “12 years” and a heart emoji.

The former St Andrew’s University flatmates tied the knot at Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011, after an eight-year relationship.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ wedding was the royal event of 2011, with 2,000 guests in attendance at the fairytale ceremony.

Their nuptials featured two receptions, a carriage procession through central London and flypasts, sealed with a kiss on the Buckingham Palace balcony, which was pictured on the front pages of newspapers across the globe.

Almost 25 million people watched the live televised ceremony, with an estimated worldwide television audience of two billion.

The couple released new pictures to mark their 10th wedding anniversary in 2021.

William proposed with his late mother Princess Diana’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring while he and Kate were on holiday in Kenya.

They relocated from Kensington Palace, which a source described as a “little bit of a fishbowl”, last year.

The couple will be a key feature of King Charles’ coronation next Saturday, 6 May, with Louis expected to join his older brother and sister in a procession from Westminster Abbey.

Three new photographs of the King and Queen Consort have also been released ahead of the coronation, together with details of a new partition which will shield the monarch when he is anointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
